Leaving a gift
After providing for your family and friends, you might consider including a gift to us in your Will. No matter what the size of gift, legacies will allow us to continue our work into HIV with added confidence and can make a significant difference to what we can do to improve the care, comfort and support of patients living with HIV. Remembering St Stephen's AIDS Trust in your Will won’t cost you a penny during your lifetime, but it will make an enormous difference to the future of patients at the hospital.
How to Leave a Legacy to St Stephen's AIDS Trust
If you would like to leave a gift to us there are two main types of legacy which you might consider:
Pecuniary legacy: This gift is a set sum of money which can be index-linked to maintain its value in line with inflation.
Residuary legacy: This is a share (or all) of the residue of your estate when all other commitments have been settled.
Suggested wording for your Will
Leaving a gift to us in your will is easy; all you need to do is include the following words: ‘I give the [sum of / % share of residue of my estate / item specified] to St Stephen's AIDS Trust of the registered charity number 1134163 absolutely for its general charitable purposes.’
All those who make a donation or who remember St Stephen's AIDS Trust in their Will will be given (if they choose) their own ‘virtual’ commemorative plaque on our website. We always request permission beforehand in order to name donors.
